The magical concoction of friendship and one take recording.  The music and lyrics were recorded in one take with minimal preparation.  Spontaneous music with a few beers in between.  Naked Sunday calls to mind sounds off from the 90's side project Mad Season.  The hit track could be Fingers however which is just real talk from start to finish of why arms are so imperative.

Kung Fu, Sho Tu!

   Well last night was night 2.0 of Kung Fu's 4 week residency at Brooklyn Bowl.  Set openers Sonic Spank and Biodiesel were welcome power warm ups for the connecticut funk veterans.  Biodiesel especially set the right mindset for the growing Bowl crowd which was complimented by the background beat of strikes and gutters.

 Breakfast guitarist emeritus Tim Palmieri and Todd Stoops from RAQ, in consistent fashion linking their jam roots opened up with a bluesy line before launching the band into Gung Ho. At this point Livolsi's basslines drew you in like a fucking groove lasso.  Throughout the night there were guest spots by several unexpected heavy weights including Neal Evans of Dopapod and Jeff Lloyd of the Heavy Pets.  Master bassist Victor Bailey also graced the stage which added an air of regality to the royal court of funk.
  
Perhaps high tide occurred during a drum battle between resident Fu drummer Adrian Tramontano and Biodiesel's Johnny Rabb.  Literally it was a sonic tennis match between two drumming giants as your head pivoted between percussive volleys.  With 2 more Mondays to cut through at Brooklyn Bowl its an opportune way to spend a Monday night, or as Palmieri pointed out at one point during the set "I thought it was always Friday?"
